Invasion of the Cuban Commies

Marco says radical Democrats are out to destroy Western Civilization.

“It is very depressing to see that in the 21st century people are still using the same 1950s and ‘60s style of propaganda,” said Bassem Youssef, actor and former surgeon.

That’s what we are experiencing now: recycled propaganda about a communist threat that does not exist. Marco Rubio’s State Department has dredged up the past—the McCarthy era—and given it a new twist. In the 1950s it was membership in the communist party that got one blacklisted.

Rubio, a diehard anticommunist straight out of the exile Cuban community in Miami, known as the “Cuban Miami Mafia,” has come up with a paranoid theory about progressive liberalism and democratic socialism. It represents a Cuban Marxism-Leninism threat to Western Civilization.

“Since the 1960s, the regime has served as the beating heart of a new and distinct kind of Marxism, forged around an overriding resentment and fundamental hatred of the United States and the broader West,” Rubio’s paranoid white paper (PDF), titled Cuba: The Capital of 21st Century Communism argues.

Zohran Mamdani, Medea Benjamin, Hasan Piker, Ilhan Omar, Amy Goodman, Ayanna Presley, Chris Smalls, and others—these are, for Rubio and the Trump State Department, fellow travelers or dupes for a Cuban plot to undermine America.

The Cubans devoted themselves to recruiting, cultivating and mobilizing a global coalition of activists, intellectuals, and political groups around this cause, building a sprawling revolutionary network that shaped a disproportionate share of America’s most famous and influential extremist movements, from the Black Panthers and the Weather Underground through to Antifa. Today, that network continues to maintain ties to powerful leftist nonprofits, anti-ICE collectives, socialist groups, and Marxist militant organizations across the United States.

“The implication is clear,” writes Ken Klippenstein, a journalist who previously worked at The Intercept, “Secretary of State Marco Rubio thinks there should be a modern-day blacklist of the political left in America. In fact, the report explicitly mentions the ‘blacklists, McCarthy-era investigations and prosecutions’ of the 1950s and their effectiveness at dismembering the Communist Party USA.”

It is imperative for Trump and what remains of MAGA to win the midterms. If they lose seats in the election, MAGA is doomed. If the Democrats take over both houses of Congress, Trump will be impeached, possibly imprisoned, along with his cabinet and top lieutenants—and yet, understanding well enough how the pathocratic system functions, there is also a good chance they will not be held responsible for their crimes and will become, like the late Henry Kissinger before them, elder statesmen, or persons.

Rubio’s commie witch-hunt is not so much about communism as it is liberal progressive Democrats, especially social democrats around Bernie Sanders, and the existential threat perceived by Trump, Republicans, and MAGA.

You know they mean business when a recent White House press release warned: “far-left extremism will be treated with the same seriousness and ferocity the world has long reserved for jihadist terrorism.”

No indication as of yet how far they will go with this 1950s-esque Red Scare pretext to stay in power. If it will truly be comparable to what the CIA and Pentagon did to suspected jihadi terrorists under Obama, Trump, and Biden, all I can say is there will be blood.
