Afghan Resettlement Caused Quarter Billion Dollars in Damages to Military Bases

It might have been cheaper to fly in the Taliban and let them loose.

It might have been cheaper to just fly in the Taliban and let them loose on our military bases. They might have done less damage. And in some ways that’s what we did. We imported a massive enemy population into our country hoping they’d provide the next generation of Ilhan Omars.

And we’re now dealing with a quarter billion in damages. Call it the war at home.

Military bases that housed tens of thousands of Afghan refugees in the U.S. incurred almost $260 million in damages that in some cases rendered buildings unusable for troops until significant repairs to walls and plumbing are made, the Pentagon’s inspector general found.

The refugees were housed at Fort Bliss, Texas; Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey; Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.; Camp Atterbury, Indiana; Fort Pickett, Fort Lee, and Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia; and Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico.

The sheer volume of people in the temporary housing left those barracks and buildings with significant wear and tear, the inspector general found.

The military and the media claim that this level of devastation is normal. I spent over a year writing about and documenting the crimes and the damage that Afghan migrants have been causing even while the military brass pushed happy talk. I have been contacted by people in local communities with horror stories.

Biden’s illegal move to bust in massive numbers of Afghans, vetted by the Taliban, but not by us, was ugly.

“Afghans were confused and upset by hygiene practices,” a Wall Street Journal article described. “Every toilet on base was Western style, with a seat and toilet paper. But a number of Afghans are accustomed to restrooms that allow them to squat so they don’t have to physically touch the toilet. It led to some cases of Afghans relieving themselves outside.”

The Biden regime and its brass put Afghans first and Americans, including our troops, last.

In 2019, members of the 2nd Battalion, 127th Infantry returned home from Afghanistan. In early October, the 127th left Appleton, Wisconsin and traveled to Fort McCoy for training.

Unfortunately, Fort McCoy was already occupied by an estimated 13,000 Afghan “refugees”.

When the 127th arrived, the barracks they were meant to sleep in had already been taken. With Afghans sleeping in their barracks and their beds, they reportedly had to sleep outside instead.

Did we lose a war or something? Oh, I suppose we did. The enemy is claiming the privileges of victory.
