Bombshell: Cruz and Trump Both Say They Won’t Support Republican Nominee

Unless, it’s them! Both Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Donald Trump said on Tuesday that they won’t be supporting the eventual nominee from the Republican Party.

Front-runner Trump claims that he is revoking his pledge to support the eventual GOP nominee, and didn’t seem to mind that Ted Cruz would not fulfill his vow to support him should he become the nominee.

“He doesn’t have to support me. I really don’t believe I need his support,” Mr. Trump said in a town hall meeting in Wisconsin.

Well, that I would agree with. I don’t know why endorsements are such a big deal anyway. Can people not simply decide for themselves, or do they need other political idols and celebrities to tell them how to think? This is exactly why you will never hear me provide an endorsement of any candidate.

Cruz also took a similar stand. Following the recent childish behavior between the two candidates last week regarding their wives, Cruz was pressed by CNN’s Anderson Cooper, and he said that things had changed since the beginning of the primary race. According to Cruz, his goal is to be in the nominee spot, something that will require him to grab roughly the remaining 93% of the delegates, while Trump needs about 57%. Truly, one would have to be delusional to the point of Glenn Beck‘s “anointed one” claim in order to achieve such a feat. Such a defeat will only prove that Glenn Beck is a false teacher and does not speak for the true and living God (Deut. 13).

The Washington Times reports:

Mr. Cruz said Mr. Trump ruined that when he said in recent days he would go after Mr. Cruz’s wife in retaliation for an anti-Trump super political action committee’s ad featuring a racy picture of his wife, Melania, a former model.

“I’m not an easy person to tick off, but when you go after my wife, when you go after my daughters, that does it,” Mr. Cruz said.

He accused Mr. Trump of being behind a thinly sourced story last week in the National Enquirer tabloid that reported Mr. Cruz had engaged in affairs with a handful of women. The story aggregated rumors, and the only named source was Roger Stone, an adviser to Mr. Trump, who said: “These stories have been swirling around Cruz for some time. I believe where there is smoke there is fire.”

I’ve taken a bit of a stand for Cruz on at least two occasions regarding allegations that he has committed adultery on his wife. To be honest, on a personal level, I tend to think there is something to the story, but on a biblical level, I don’t see the evidence that all these outlets keep pushing is out there. Until that is made available to the public, we should treat such claims as gossip, no matter what our gut may tell us or what we think.

However, Cruz has launched his own attack on Donald Trump about the National Enquirer story without a shred of evidence of his own claims.

Frankly, I don’t think any of these candidates should be forced to endorse the nominee. Again, the American people can decide for themselves, though I’m sad to see that Americans cannot disagree peacefully and have to resort to personal, and sometimes even physical, attacks against their fellow Americans over the issue.

With the above said, since each man did sign their name to a piece of paper to endorse the nominee and that is their word, and where I come from your word is your bond, I’m just wondering how much we can trust either one when they place their hand on the Bible and take the oath of office if we can actually trust that oath. If you can’t trust their word on a piece of paper, what makes you think you can trust their word once in office?

…I wonder what candidate people are going to think I’m supporting now!
