In April, we previously reported that ABC/Disney was going to give the mentally ill sodomite Dan Savage his own sitcom show. Now, Christians across America are uniting in an effort to put an end to the production.
We previously reported:
The “It Gets Better” founder is slated to be the focus of a semi-autobiographical, single-camera comedy on ABC, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show, still untitled, will follow the younger years of Savage’s life and the experiences of his family following his decision to come out of the closet.
“What seems like the end of their idyllic life turns out to be the beginning of a bright new chapter when everyone stops pretending to be perfect and actually starts being real,” The Hollywood Reporter notes.
According to Entertainment Weekly, “David Windsor and Casey Johnson will write and executive-produce with Savage, Brian Pines and Dan McDermott.”
Dan Savage, who writes a sex and relationship advice column, is also widely known for his work with the “It Gets Better” project, a campaign that aims to help queer youth understand that their circumstances will get better and cultivate change throughout the world in terms of LGBT tolerance.
“The Real O’Neals” was touted as the “Family of the Year” in earlier reports and it looked as if ABC/Disney was going to get a pass from many for promoting an open sodomite.
However, several conservative Christian groups are joining forces to put pressure on ABC/Disney to not air the show. Among those are The Media Research Center, the Family Research Council, the American Family Association and Catholic leaders.
Now, those same groups are receiving the support of many other evangelical Christians.
Bob Unruh reports on the voices in the Christian community speaking out against Savage and the show:
“Gay activist Dan Savage embodies the mainstream ‘gay rights’ movement, decrying ‘discrimination’ while spewing some of the most hateful and obscene venom,” said Ryan Bomberger, chief creative officer of the Radiance Foundation. “Hollywood likes to pretend it battles against ‘hate’ when, in reality, it regularly churns out race-baiting, anti-Christian, anti-conservative, anti-Life propaganda every day.”
…
Alex McFarland of the Christian Worldview Center at North Greenville University said: “More and more, we are seeing not simply the open rejection of Christianity but an open mockery of God and his word. For any television network to promote a program based on the life of someone whose brand is making fun of Christians and of the Christian faith is something we as Americans and as Christians simply should not stand for.
“If Disney ABC moves forward in airing this program, the network will have established itself as an enemy to people of faith nationwide.”
Sam Rohrer of the American Pastors Network said, “The fact that Disney ABC would even consider airing a program based on the life of someone who openly mocks Christianity is astounding and shameful.”
Mathew Staver of Liberty Counsel said Savage is “well-known for his hate-filled and despicable foul mouth.”
“ABC should not provide a platform for a man who wishes death to people merely because they disagree with his hate. If ABC continues with Dan Savage we will assume that ABC endorses hate and death to the majority of decent Americans.’
Regina Griggs of Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays said that because of “programs like this, children are losing their childhoods and being used as pawns to promote social experiments for sexuality and gender confusion.”
“Savage, one of the cruelest, most vile political activists in America, has spared no one with whom he disagrees from his vitriolic hate speech,” said Monica Cole, director of One Million Moms. “Despite Savage’s extremism, vulgarity and unabashed encouragement of dangerous sexual practices, Disney ABC is planning to feature a man who has done nothing but bash Christians and bash the Bible.”
…
“Dan Savage’s brand of hate does not merit a platform on a supposedly pro-family network,” said MRC President Brent Bozell. “Disney ABC’s silence is not going unnoticed by faith and family advocates.
Tony Perkins, president of FRC, asked: “What does an X-rated gay sex columnist have in common with Walt Disney? Nothing. And that’s exactly the problem.”
“Most Americans have probably never heard of Dan Savage, but unfortunately, that’s all about to change this fall,” he said. “Despite massive outcry – thousands of phone calls, emails and petition signers – Disney’s ABC is taking its LGBT activism to new lows with plans to bring the controversial Christian-basher to life in a sitcom called ‘The Real O’Neals.'”
Perkins asks a poignant question. However, consider that “Gay Days” are promoted annually at Disney theme parks. However, though Disney doesn’t openly promote “Gay Days,” you have never heard Disney stop sodomites from openly displaying their depravity either. They simply refer to it as an unofficial event. “Disney does not sponsor Gay Days, it’s simply a time of year when people come to Central Florida,” said Rena Callahan, spokeswoman for the Disney corporation.
Christian Action Network (CAN) President Martin Mawyer said, “Not only did we see men kissing men, but these shirtless homosexuals were twisting the nipples of each other and fondling the butts and groins of their ‘lovers.’ And all this occurred right out in the open at a Disney theme park.”
So, Disney won’t stop the activity that takes place inside their theme park and now they are promoting an open sodomite on a TV show. What does that tell you about what they have in common?
Savage, who is known for his vulgarity, and even criminal activity, has yet to face scrutiny from ABC/Disney. Not only was Savage named as an “Anti-Bully Czar” by Barack Obama, and even touted that support as a message from Obama to young people engaged in sodomy. Savage said, “The president of the United States was telling queer kids, ‘There’s something wrong with your parents, there’s something wrong with your preachers, there’s something wrong with your teachers, and f— those people!'”
However, Savage has also engaged in the following:
- Bullied former presidential candidate Rick Santorum via an internet campaign to redefine his last name, which fits the definition of cyber bullying. He even expressed the desire to rape Santorum on television.
- Licked door handles at Gary Bauer’s campaign office in hopes of getting people sick.
- Pushed for mandatory abortions
- Calling Christian students “pansies” in front of their peers and claimed the Bible was BS.
- Has wished Republicans were all dead (Isn’t it interesting how these degenerates call for the deaths of those that oppose them? Yet, play the victim when law is upheld against them? And I’m still not hearing the sodomite community rebuke this guy’s comments.)
- Used vile language against Ben Carson
- Said he wished Carl Romanelli was dragged behind a pickup truck till nothing was left but the rope
- Expressed the desire to sexually assault actor Brad Pitt
A Christian that engaged in any of this behavior would face a lynching mob, but Savage is getting a TV show. Savage is a Romans 1 sodomite. He has been turned over to a depraved mind because of his rebellion against his Creator. As a result of justice not being brought to bear upon his actions, his crimes, as well as his judgment continues to pile up.
What can you do? Previously, a petition garnered thousands of signatures to protest ABC’s airing of the show. Now, the Media Research Council is also sending postcards on Americans’ behalf via this link. Let’s make sure that ABC/Disney hears us loud and clear that we won’t tolerate their promotion of the abomination that God hates.
