Many have alleged that President-elect Donald Trump is a racist and doesn’t care about people who are poor. There are many stories that are contrary to those allegations. One of them comes from a homeless black woman who claims that Trump let her live rent free at Trump Tower for eight years.

I’m not quite sure how the media will spin this woman’s testimony.

As she filmed her comments from her hotel window, she said, “I am a squatter in Donald Trump’s building, Trump Tower, in New York City.”

“I came in here about nine years ago and snuck in the building and just started occupying one of the empty rooms in here,” she said. “By the time our housekeeper noticed I was here, the next day she called the manager and they called the New York City police, who came up here and told me I had to leave or I would be arrested.”

“When I told them I would not go, they contacted Mr. Trump over the phone and he came down here,” the woman continued. “Instead of him evicting me off the property, he said that I can stay and it’s been eight years I’ve been here.”

“Not only did he not evict me off the property, he made sure that I ate three meals a day by room service and that I get a delivery of fresh flowers every week,” she added.

Then she had a message for those who think Trump is a racist bigot.

“So, you people he’s not a bad guy at all,” the woman says looking into the camera. “If it weren’t for him, I’d be homeless. I’d be dead right now. I’d be in the street.”

She then added, “I asked him how I’m gonna be able to pay him back for all of this and he told me I can pay him back whenever I get it, which is never.”

“I have no idea why he did this for me,” she concluded. “It’s been nine years, and I’ve been here for totally free and I haven’t paid a dime. Donald Trump is not a bad guy. He’s a wonderful, wonderful man, and everything I’m telling you today is true.”

She then turns off the camera.

While I have never thought Trump was neither a racist nor one who is not charitable, I have questioned other things. Those are not among them.

In fact, Trump is known for his charity. Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson and her family were offered a fully paid hotel suite after her brother and mother were murdered in 2008.

Something does come to mind though as I listen to this woman’s story and that is the words of the Lord Jesus from Matthew 25:

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And  the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you,  Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,  ye have done it unto me.

I pray he will be a president worthy of honor.
