President Trump Kept His Promise While His Predecessors Didn’t

“Right now I’m thinking about what’s going on and the love that’s all over Israel and all about Jerusalem…”— President Trump on his happiness to fulfill a promise more than 2 decades in the making.

The day after announcing that the United States would officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and that the United States would be moving our embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, President Trump had more to say on the Israel issue.

In a celebration to mark the first day of Hanukkah, the President and the First Lady welcomed Holocaust survivor Louise Lawrence-Israels and Orthodox Rabbi Meir Soloveichik who delivered the blessing over the ceremony. Also present were the President’s daughter Ivanka (who converted to Judaism when she married) and son-in-law Jared Kushner and their children, Vice President Pence, and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

From the LA Times:

Lawrence-Israels spoke of standing up to hate. And Soloveichik recited a traditional prayer that he said has additional meaning this year.

“For the first time since the founding of the state of Israel, an American president has courageously declared what we have always proclaimed, which is that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel,” Soloveichik said.

However, the most memorable moment of the day may have come hours after the Hanukkah celebration when the President “trolled” his predecessors (Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama) for not fulfilling their many promises to move the American embassy to Jerusalem.

The President tweeted out a short video proving that while his predecessors all promised to move our embassy to Jerusalem, none of them actually followed through. However, President Trump did just that, making history and strengthening the Israel-USA bond.

“I fulfilled my campaign promise – others didn’t!”

The media enjoys calling President Trump a liar, but thus far, less than a year into his presidency, he’s already proven that he intends to keep as many of his campaign promises as he possibly can. Even if the political establishment hates him for doing so.
