Sen. Dianne Feinstein: “There is a Real Danger… the Justice Department could become Politicized”

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump‘s nominees for Deputy Attorney General and Associate Attorney General appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee.  During that confirmation hearing, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) uttered what has to be one of the most ridiculous statements in history, given her party’s members who have occupied the White House and the Department of Justice.  She said she believed there is a “real danger” that the “Justice Department could become politicized.”

Before the two nominees, Rod Rosenstein and Rachel Brand, spoke, Senator Feinstein called for an investigation into the allegations that President Trump is in collusion with Russia, which there is no evidence to even begin an investigation.  Noticeably, she did not call for an investigation into the usurpation of the Oval Office by Barack Hussein Obama Soetoro Sobarkah and his ineligibility, which had tons of evidence.  She has not called for an investigation into the utter corruption of either former Attorney General Eric Holder nor former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and she certainly has not called for an investigation into her own crimes in pushing a gun confiscation agenda in clear violation of the Second Amendment.

Feinstein seems to have made up her mind about both Rosenstein and Brand as she declared that being “nice” and having “impressive credentials” are not enough to qualify them for the positions which they have been nominated.

“We need independent, fair-minded public servants who will adhere to the rule of law and look out for everyone in this country, not just the powerful or well-connected. We need steel spines, not weak knees when it comes to political independence in the Department of Justice,” Feinstein said.  “And there is a real danger, I believe, that the Justice Department could become politicized.”

Of course, Feinstein is far too late to be worried about the DOJ becoming political.

Senator Ted Cruz voiced the politicizing of the Obama DOJ with several instances.

“When the Department of Justice used Operation Choke Point to target legal businesses because they disagreed politically with those businesses,” Crus said.  “When the Obama Justice Department sent millions of dollars of taxpayer monies to sanctuary cities that were defying federal immigration law.”

“When the Obama administration refused to enforce federal immigration laws and unilaterally re-wrote these laws,” the Texas Senator added.  “When the Obama administration released tens of thousands of criminal illegal aliens including rapists and murderers into the general population.  When the Department of Justice signed off on the Obama administration paying a nearly $2 billion ransom to Iran, contrary to federal law.”

As I wrote the other day, what is with Bill Clinton meeting with then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch at the same time the Obama administration was pushing to wiretap Trump Tower?  Was that not being political?

Even more recently, what of former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, who was canned by President Trump for not enforcing the law regarding his executive order regarding a migrant-travel ban.

It seems to me that Senator Feinstein is doing nothing more than politicizing the Senate Judiciary Committee, she’s simply being hypocritical as always.
