“Professed Christian teachers in America have embraced not only that which is unbiblical, but that which blatantly contradicts the Scriptures on so many fronts.”
Just this week, I had a call into the radio show where the caller shared with us what he had been studying in the Word of God. I share this not to condescend or to belittle but to spiritually educate that which I have received (2 Timothy 2:6). He began by taking national and global events and then doing his best to put them together with the Scriptures. Apparently, this caller did not understand that the carnal mind is at enmity with God (Romans 8:7), and that which is born of the flesh is flesh, while that which is born of the Spirit is of the Spirit (John 3:6).
Furthermore, 1 Corinthians 2:14 tells us:
“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
Now, while I was listening to this man I knew immediately that with which I was dealing. After assessing what it is that I could, I then asked him the question, “Now, that you are doing your best to connect the dots with the Word and current events, do remember that the same Scriptures have been brought up throughout the beginning of time.” I quoted 2 Peter 1:20, which tells us, “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.”
He responded with more of his carnal rant which became “gloomy and doomy” about the end times. I then had enough and I broke into his theories with the question “Where is the Gospel?”
I said Jesus said that He doesn’t know the end of time (Matthew 24:36).
We know surely that we are not going to be raptured from responsibility.
John 17:15 tells us, “I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.”
I quoted Scripture for him that “Where sin abounded, grace abounded much more” (Romans 5:20).
I asked, “Where is the grace?”
Websters 1828 Dictionary defines grace as “Favorable influence of God; divine influence or the influence of the spirit, in renewing the heart and restraining from sin.”
I asked him, “Where he was made a conquer in Christ? (Romans 8:37).
I said, “Scripture tells us that greater is He that is in me then he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
Where is the faith that overcomes this world that Christ gives? (Hebrews 12:2; 1 John 5:4)
Friends, there are many people out there prophesying from their own wicked hearts (Jeremiah 17:9) whom the Lord has not sent (Ezekiel 13:6). There are those that are born of the Spirit, and there are those that are born of the flesh in making a distinction from the Word of God.
“Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.” -2 Corinthians 3:6
Yes, preach law to grace (Galatians 3:24), but if there is no good news in the message that is being received in Christ, it is because they themselves have not yet received it (John 3:3).
