Prohibition didn’t work in the 20th century because alcohol really isn’t anything the government should have a say so in and people knew it. All it did, like the “war on drugs” was drive a black market and call something a crime that was not a crime.
Enter gun prohibition.
That is what every single piece of legislation that seeks to ban arms of any kind is, prohibition.
In the wake of the Texas church shooting, gun grabbing Communist Democrats have introduced a bill that will not do one that that would stop any shooting and it certainly would not have stopped the one in Texas this past Sunday.
A coalition of about two dozen Senate Democrats, led by Senator Dianne “Mr. and Mrs. America, turn ’em all in” Feinstein (D-CA), have proposed a ban on what they call “assault weapons,” which are nothing more than semi-automatic rifles that look like military weapons, but operate differently.
“We’re introducing an updated Assault Weapons Ban for one reason: so that after every mass shooting with a military-style assault weapon, the American people will know that a tool to reduce these massacres is sitting in the Senate, ready for debate and a vote,” Feinstein said in a statement.
That tool will not reduce anything and she knows it.
She will also ensure that government agents will be fully armed to the teeth with fully automatic weapons.
After the Vegas shooting last month, Feinstein made irrelevant arguments against bump stocks as though banning bump stocks would stop people from bump firing semi-automatic rifles.
That ban would have stopped nothing.
The Hill reports:
The Democratic legislation would ban the sale, production and transfer of military-style assault weapons, with some exceptions, though owners would be able to keep existing weapons. It would also ban magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition.
The bill would require a background check on any future trade or sale of an assault weapon covered by the legislation, require any guns grandfathered under the bill to be securely stored and prohibit transferring high-capacity magazines.
Lawmakers have homed in on bump stocks after a mass shooting at a country music festival in Las Vegas last month, where nearly 60 people were killed and more than 500 others were injured.
Authorities have said a dozen of the rifles used by the suspect, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, had been modified with bump stocks.
None of this would have prevented Mr. Kelley from obtaining his weapon. He wouldn’t have passed a background check in the first place had the government done its part in putting his felony record in the system, but nevermind that, they want you defenseless. That is the point, regardless of whether or not they actually do the right thing.
None of these sort of bans did anything to reduce gun violence during the first “assault weapons ban” that Feinstein pushed for an got under President Bill Clinton.
These little pieces of paper are not only attacks on the Constitution’s Second Amendment and the God-given rights of the people, they are stepping stones to full-fledged gun confiscation.
Senator Dianne Feinstein’s interview on 60 minutes back in 1995 reveals exactly what her agenda is: disarming the American people. Feinstein said, “If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States, for an outright ban, picking up everyone of them (every gun) Mr. and Mrs. America, turn ‘em all in. I would have done it.” So what kept her from doing it? She didn’t have the votes.
Following the Sandy Hook shooting, Feinstein went after virtually every single semi-automatic gun you can think of, but failed miserably.
She got spanked on the issue of the Constitution and her lawless actions by Senator Ted Cruz during that entire fiasco.
Why this woman has not been tried for treason against the people of the united States is beyond me. Why she continues to be a sitting US senator baffles me as well.
The reality in all of this, despite the mass shootings that have occurred in the past month, is that the US is number one in the world in gun ownership and yet, we aren’t even in the top 100 countries with the highest murder rate. To infringe on the right to keep and bear arms, including those semi-automatic rifles and bump stocks that go on them rather then deal justly with violent criminals is a crime in and of itself.
