With the emergency measures taking place because of the COVID-19 pandemic causing schools to close, many businesses to shut down, orders for no more than a few people gathering in public for any event. Elections postponed in some states, stay at home orders increasing everywhere, along with some elected officials testing positive for COVID-19 and some getting sick. This indicates that soon all elected officials are going to have to conduct business on a remote basis via the internet rather than gathering together, as they always have in the past.
What all this, and other measures, yet to be implemented because of this disease means is, the 2020 presidential general elections may not take place at all.
Most of the remaining primary elections will be postponed by months pushing the process too close to the time of the national conventions as well as no one running can campaign, presently.
Other problems may arise in the meantime, such as the possibility that Biden and Sanders may be infected with the virus, after attending rallies and physically interacting with people in the crowds.
If they are, neither one of them has a very good chance of surviving it, considering both men are in their 70s.
If this scenario were to happen, the Democrats would end up having absolutely no one as their candidate for President, causing the entire primary elections process to have to be sacked and completely redone from scratch.
Since the Democratic National Convention is scheduled to take place on July 13 and the Republican National Convention on August 27, it becomes apparent that neither will happen as planned and will have to be postponed to another date.
With all the postponed primary elections along with both conventions being moved to a later date, or canceled altogether, you begin to realize that the 2020 general Presidential elections are not going to happen at all.
Since COVID-19 is just now reaching its peak here in the US and the number of cases will not begin to decrease until about the middle of April, things will not return to normal for quite some time.
With all things considered, there is no way the US is going to have an election this year.
What will more than likely happen is the entire elections process will have to be redone in 2021, from the primaries to the overall general Presidential elections.
