Department of Defense: The Bible, Constitution & Declaration of Independence Contribute to Sexism

According to Department of Defense “sexism course,” the Bible, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence contribute to sexism. Yes, you heard right. Obama’s Defense Department just took a major open shot at the sacred text of Scripture, along with the founding documents of the united States.

The course was put together by the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute. According to their mission statement, they are supposed to “enhance mission readiness from development through delivery of world-class human relations education, training, and innovative solutions for our customers.”

One then wonders how they are fulfilling that mission with some of the things this course states. For instance, on page 14 of the course titled Historical Influences, we read:

So, if you are already a sexist, then you may misinterpret the Bible and assume it is sexist when not properly understood. The same kind of presentation was given with the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. But do we really need a course to tell people that those who are already prone towards being sexists that they will misinterpret just about anything to hold onto that view? I think not.

The page also reveals that the Constitution’s “‘We the People…’ only included white men: Slaves and women were not included until later in history.” I guess that makes it both sexist and racist, right?

Interestingly enough, this is the same Defense Department that employs thousands of men and women in America who take an oath to that document.

Defense Department spokesman Lt. Cmdr. Nate Christensen told the Daily Caller, “The content of the lesson is provided to generate academic discussion concerning how these historical documents have been included in discussions about the topic of sexism.”

Does this really come into people’s thinking when they read these things? It never has entered my mind when I have read any of these documents. What happened next is similar to other things the Obama administration has done in the past when they got caught with their hand in the cookie jar, like in the Evangelical Christians topping the list of potential terrorists ahead of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Following the DC’s request for comment about the sexism course, as well as two others that dealt with prejudice & discrimination and race, the courses were pulled from the website. They were listed with the phrase “This course is currently offline and under revision.”

The sudden pulling of the courses online led Christensen to inform the DC, “DEOMI online materials are periodically pulled to review to ensure accuracy and relevance. The racism, sexism and Prejudice & Discrimination are currently undergoing that review process.”

Right, but not that quickly they don’t.

The Daily Caller was also able to capture copies of each of the three courses before they were removed. Here’s some of the screenshots they obtained.

DC also reported:

Lt. Cmdr. Nate Christensen said information in the DEOMI courses accurately reflects Department of Defense policy: “The Department of Defense Office of Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity [ODMEO] in collaboration with the Military services review DEOMI’s education and training materials designed for Equal Opportunity Advisors [EOAs] to ensure that DoD policy is accurately reflected. DEOMI staff develops, in coordination with the ODMEO and the Military Services, standardized training templates to ensure only approved training materials are used during local training sessions.”

“While there is no DoD Policy that requires persons to take these online courses,” Christensen told TheDC, “since 2011, 2,075 Department of Defense personnel took the ‘Sexism’ course, 3,448 took the ‘Prejudice & Discrimination’ course, and 3,028 took the ‘Racism’ course.”
