The headline of the February 6-8 weekend edition of USA Today reads, “Papal first: A Speech to Congress.” At the invitation of House Speaker John Boehner, Pope Francis is scheduled to address Congress September 24, 2015. According to the U.S. House Historian’s Office this will be the first time a pope or religious leader who is also a head of state has addressed Congress. Francis is also planning to visit New York and Philadelphia as well as Washington, DC.

Boehner, along with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and President Barack Hussein Obama expressed their enthusiasm and praise for Francis in anticipation of the pontiff’s arrival in the United States this fall. Pelosi stated, “Pope Francis has renewed the faith of Catholics worldwide and inspired a new generation of people, regardless of their religious affiliation, to be instruments of peace.”

However, this frighteningly popular religious leader is yet another, and probably the final, antichrist figure visibly representing one of the most blasphemous, perverted religious and political organizations on earth, the Roman Catholic Church. Worldwide it claims over one billion members. It claims to be “one, holy and apostolic” church. It may be “one”, but it is anything but holy and apostolic in a biblical sense as history and practice have proven over and over again.

Over the centuries unbiblical concepts and practices such as The Sacrifice of the Mass, prayers offered to dead “saints”, the immaculate conception, worship of Mary, the rosary, celibacy of the priesthood, salvation by rites, adoration of the host (wafer), tradition equal to (in practice greater than) the Bible, the pope as the vicar of Christ on the earth, the infallibility of the pope in matters of faith and morals, and purgatory have been incorporated into the official teachings of the church.

For nearly two millennia millions upon millions of sincere people have been deceived by her lying traditions. Millions have been murdered by her inquisitions, corrupted by her witchcraft and otherwise abused by her priests. Only God knows how many trusting souls have been lost forever because of her false gospel and “Christianized” pagan practices.

The idea that the pope is an antichrist ruling over an international antichrist religious organization is often either not considered, or categorically rejected, even by supposed Bible-believing evangelicals in the contemporary fog of political correctness and ecumenism. However protestant tradition is definitely not politically correct. Bible believing people and reformers throughout church history viewed the Roman Catholic Church and the papacy as antichrist–the Waldenses, Hussites, Wycliffites, Lollards, Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Knox, John Wesley, Charles Spurgeon, Charles Hodge to name a few.

Though there have been a few cosmetic changes, the unbiblical teachings and political corruptions of the Roman Catholic Church are being continually advanced worldwide. Pope Francis has been almost universally welcomed and lauded as a fresh image, a peacemaking servant and compelling voice calling for the uniting of all world religions.

But be sure it is all part of the same deceitful, antichrist religious spirit of Rome. Pope Francis has made statements indicating he believes in evolution and is, of course, a major player in promoting and establishing the new world order. Don’t let him fool you even though he may talk about Jesus, appears to be a man of the people, a man of peace, and is exalted by media and Christians leaders alike.

“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. II Corinthians 11:13-14

The South Atlantic Presbytery of the Bible Presbyterian Church, March 25, 2000, included the following statements as part of a resolution which all of us would do well to heed in 2015: “…the Roman Catholic Church…constitutes the greatest threat to fundamental Christianity in the 21^st century! The Roman Catholic Church has long since forsaken the Bible alone; grace alone; faith alone; and Christ alone. There should be no confraternity with this apostate church….We admonish devout believers to lovingly and firmly win Roman Catholics to Christ and urge new converts to obey Rev. 18:4. “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” [emphasis mine].
