The Creation – The Handiwork of God

The origins of the universe are often called into question. However, we do have answers in the Bible. Who created the universe? God did.

On the very first day of Creation, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void; and the earth was completely dark. So, God made light. When this was done, God saw that it was good.

Then, God divided the light from the darkness. The light He called day and the dark He called night (Genesis 1:1-5).

On the second day, God made the firmament. The meaning of firmament is the sky or the heavens, as opposed to the second heavens (or outer space) found in Genesis 1:1-2). God called the firmament Heaven (Genesis 1:6-8).

The third day was probably one of the coolest days of the Creation. On the third day, God made the waters under the firmament come together and then the dry land appeared. He called the dry land Earth and the gathering together of the waters He called seas. He also made the trees and the grass and the fruit after their kind (Genesis 1:9-13).

On the fourth day, God created light in the firmament to divide the day from the night. God made the greater light (Sun) to rule the day and the lesser light (Moon) to rule the night. He also made the stars. He put these things in the firmament to give light upon the earth and so that they could be used for signs, seasons, days and years. God saw that is was good (Genesis 1:14-19).

On the fifth day, God made every bird of every kind. You name it: eagle, pelican, woodpeckers and all the other kinds of birds. He also made every living creature in the sea. For an example, God created sharks, whales, fish, and other sea creatures. God also blessed them and told them to be fruitful and multiply on the earth.

On the sixth day, God made all the land animals: Giraffes, dogs, cats, mice, lions, and you can keep going on and on. He also made human beings. The first human beings were Adam and Eve.

Adam named all the animals. Eve was his helpmeet, which means wife.

God saw that all of it was good.

On the seventh day, God rested from all the work that he had done.

If you have ever wondered who made the world and all the beautiful creations, it is God. Never doubt that God made the world.
