The Sons of The Black Robed Regiment

The Preachers of the Revolutionary War were also known as the Black Robe Regiment.

The preachers of the revolutionary war had respect for the laws of God (Exodus 20), the Bible, and its teachings, but when the King of England began to mistreat the Colonists, the preachers would not tolerate it.

So, the war for independence began.

What would they do when the war had begun?

They would go into the churches on Sunday and tell the people of their congregations that the British were killing their brothers and that they needed to follow them onto the battlefield or else all would be lost.

The response that they would get is that the congregants in the church would follow their preachers into the battle.

Here are some of their stories.
